You've got what it takes

Listening to a CD my mom lent me from the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship, I heard a teacher (Sharon Stone?) make a passing reference to 1 Kings 17:7-24.

Elijah, the man of God, asks the woman for some bread. She answers, "I don't have any bread--only a handful of flour in a jar and a little oil in a jug. I am gathering a few sticks to take home..."

Flour. Oil. Wood for fire. Sounds like the ingredients for bread to me!

It's got me wondering: how often does God desire to break into our lives only to hear us say, "We don't have what it takes. All we have is this." But the "this" is exactly what it takes for God to move as He's desiring.

Oh Lord, please remind us that we do have what it takes when you call on us. What we have is disjointed and divided, yes, but it's exactly the stuff You'll use to make what You desire. Thank You Lord!
