Digging Elisha

I've been thoroughly enjoying reading about Elisha. God's power in action can be so cool!

Check out the story of a Gentile women in 2 Kings 8:1-6. Elisha had raised her son from the dead and then told her to get out of Dodge (aka Israel) because God was bringing a seven-year famine.

She gets back after the famine, has a divinely orchestrated appointment with the king, and tells him she wants her home and land back. Here's the kings response:
"...he assigned an official to her case and said to him, "Give back everything that belonged to her, including all the income from her land from the day she left the country until now."
Phenomenal! I love it!

Not only does she get it back, she gets all the income she would've had for the seven years she was away in...catch this...PHILISTIA.

Talk about grace. Sure, the Philistines were her people. But still!

I love God's embarassing abundance!
